I had been having a shudder when the 1st to 2nd shift occurs. It felt like running over a rumble strip. At 150,000 miles it lost 3rd gear and had to be rebuilt. After the rebuild it still had the shudder. I spoke to the rebuilder about it and he recommended cleaning the mass air flow sensor. I did and the shudder disappeared. I can't really figure that one out.
