4l60e transmission rebuild
Well, less than 10k miles on a rebuild and I think it's already digging its grave.
It started hearing a noise once the trans warms up, almost like metallic ringing noise. Thought maybe it was a heat shield.
Installed a new radio so thought maybe the electronics did something screwy, but disconnected it and same issues.
It shifts fine 1-2 but in 2-3 it 'flares' and then up to 45-50 mph it keeps hunting for 4th and just jumps up and down about 200 rpms.
Thought possibly TPS needed replacing, did that, cleaned throttle body, cleaned MAF, new air filter.
Still shifts like dog poop.
Other than taking it to the shop I think it might be time to retire the ole girl. 240k 5.3l burb awd, you will be missed.
Unless someone else has had similar issues with a cheapish fix please let me know!!

Who did the rebuild? Would start with taking it to the shop. I just went the more expensive route and did a pair of 2001 Suburbans with new 4L60Es at the dealer. It was a lot, but wanted the reliability. One had just under 200K and the other 210K.
Good luck at the shop.
