Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default 6 Month Review of 2011 Suburban

Current Miles: 7200 miles

Pros:

1. Overall Capacity - I can't think of anything that exceed the people and cargo capacity of the Burb. I took a trip to Orlando with 4 adults, 11 year old, 4 year old, and 2 month old. Loaded up the rear cargo area with carry bags, golf clubs, and stroller...no problems!
2. Ride Quality - Surprisingly on 22"s, the ride is pretty damn good.
3. Seats - very good support and comfort. The OE leather is good which is why I kept it stock.
4. Back Up Camera - GREAT option to have..I use it more than I ever thought and having it on the rear view mirror was a genius idea.

Cons (in no particular order)

1. Interior Plastic - HARD and cheap...
2. Cargo Area Illumination - LACKING
3. Engine - On passing it struggles, but once you have momentum...highway driving is good.

Overall, I love my choice in a large SUV and my family and dog really enjoy riding in it for the space and comfort. I got the LT which was a choice I made because I knew I was going to modify it a lot...which is another reason why I didn't get the comparable GMC version since it seemed that they were a little more expensive for the same trim level.

I would recommend the Suburban as good value if you are looking for people hauling in comfort. It still costs a lot to fill up but I knew that going in. My brother in law has the extended version Escalade and I wouldn't trade with him...granted I modified it a lot but the options I have exceed his and I don't have to pay the "Cadillac tax."

Love my Burb.

I too agree get the mid level if you are going to do any mods, esp with the mods you did that really made it custom for you and after your mods and the base price of the vehicle you are probably not too far out then what the well equipped Eskey is...

Default Tahoe

the design of the tahoe is dead on, it's the execution (materials, fit, finish) that are crap.

it's like someone had a great way to build these things, and impecable design, then they handed it to the bean counters and it all went to hell.

that and the sat nav was lifted from a 1986 Merc.

along with the bluetooth + lack of A2DP, and phone book sync
and ability to sync caller ID Photos to headunit. etc.

Come on, it's at least as good as MapQuest.
Which in my opinion is not as good as the old gas station maps.

Other than cost, not sure why GM didn't go w/ Garmin.

How do you like your headlites? Can't remember, did install HIDs in them?
