Default 96 Tahoe All Brakes Lights On

I have a 96 2wd Tahoe. I Replaced the whole steering column including turn signal switches, airbag and steering wheel from a 97 Tahoe. When I connected the battery I noticed all 3 brakelights were on. I can shift from Park to Reverse without having to apply the brakes. I noticed that the 97 steering column had a few extra pins on the main plug than the 96 column. It also had a steering sensor at the end of the column that I took off so it can fit. Any suggestions on what I should check out first? Thanks.

Welcome to the Tahoe forum.

Someone here should be able to help you. At first blush, it sounds like some pin assignments changed from 96 to 97.
