Default 96 Tahoe back door hinge pin removal???

Hello everyone,

I have a 96 tahoe with barn doors in the back. My left door got damaged and I want to replace it. There is a top pin and bottom pin on the door. I tried knocking them out, tried an air punch, tried heating them up.

Does any have an idea on how these pins come out??? I assume that they are pressed in.

Any information would be very helpful...

Thank You,

Ryan

Default Back door hinge pin removal

I ended up cutting the pin to remove the door from the truck. Then I grinded off the head of the pin. Next I started with a small drill bit. I drilled through the head of the pin. I went through several different drill bits to slowly open the hole up. Once I just the hole as big as I could without ruinning the door hinge. I punched the rest of the pin out. It took me about an hour per pin. Not fun and don't ever want to do it again....
