Default 97 suburban ignition switch

my 97 suburban has power to all electrical systems, lights radio etc. when i try to start it the starter does not turn over. there is no power drain when I turn the key. I have already taken out the starter and had it tested & it is fine. I have been told it may be the sns safety switch, or the ignition switch. Can I get any guidance on testing these two items?

Default RE: 97 suburban ignition switch

About 2 years ago my 95 had this problem and it turned out to be the ignition switch. it seems after about 10 years of turning this switch it just wears out. It is pretty easy to replace, there are two plastic halves around the column with 3-4 screws to remove on the underside you also have to remove the lock cylinder. Once the cover is off you will see the switch and wiring.
