97 Tahoe Lt .4 Door, 4x4, 4door, 5.7L vortec. Automatic/Trans

I have the 4L60e trans so im seeking wise and experienced info. Transmission is acting up 3 days ago i gunned the gas, but i didn't actually floor the pedal, i let up before it shifted into 2nd but as soon as it did a loud!! snap came from the trans. so basically after that the 3rd and drive gears are almost like there stuck into neutral.

However tonight i was able to go from 1st then to 2nd and to 3rd after giving it slightly high rpms and then into drive but as soon as i stopped or turned it felt like it slipped into neutral again. i can shift 1st, 2nd, neutral, reverse and park just fine, just not drive or 3rd. On my 97 that was a 2 wheel drive , I went through 2 transmissions, 1st at 11,000 under warranty, planetary went out, dealership rebuilt.
2nd was at about 111,000, my dime. I just purchased a re-manufactured one and had it installed. I don't know what went out in the 2nd one but it was very similar to the 1st... really no fist or second some 3rd, revved high and barely moved when it did...

I've done alot of research and watched alot of helpful videos. so i plan doing a rebuild on the trans. im going to need some help so i gotta grab the manual and the dvd people on many forums recommend so i will. also to replace the sun shell with one called- the beast.
