Sounds like bad valve seals. Could be worn rings also

Bad valve seals allow oil to leak into the cylinder. At start-up it burns off, which makes the smoke briefly. The value seals can be replaced without removing the head.

If it were the rings then the engine would probably smoke, to a lesser extent, after warming up. A compression test would show which cylinder(s) are the suspect ones.

X3 on valve seals if it is blue smoke.

White smoke is oil, dark blue smoke is fuel.

If it's black smoke it could be injector leak down. If it does it when the engine is warm it could be the injectors releasing the gas that is under pressure. Then when you go to restart it takes longer than usual to fire up and it burns the excess fuel causing the brief smoke issue.

You hardly see blue smoke anymore. Even on high mileage cars.I remember when I was younger there was 1 out of every 10 cars smoking and stinking the place up.

If it's a head gasket you'll probably get an overheating issue real quick like.

it is white smoke and smells like antifreeze, but no overheating....now i'm wondering...i had the intake gasket changed because it was leaking antifreeze from the top, now my question is could the gasket have been put on wrong and causing it to leak into the motor now...or is there no possible way for the antifreeze to get in that way
