AFM LIFTERS BAD AGAIN. Looking for advice
I have a 2021 suburban high country, purchased in April of 2022 I love the vehicle but issues keeps happening. At 8k miles all the lifters had to be replaced. Here I am now at 84k miles, car in the shop, and am being told that it has a lifter/ camshaft issue with an estimated repair job over 9k. I am looking for advice from anyone who experienced this problem.
Doing research i learned that there is a known AFM /Dfm design flaw that is causing these issue in 6 2 l87 engines. When they replaces the lifters before I was not given the extended 6yr/100k mi power train warranty that was offered to others.
I have also learned about the open class action suit Harrison vs Gm
I don't understand how there isn't a recall on this yet. And as much as I love this car I have a hard time shelling out the cost of that repair. A vehicle is have owned for less than 4 yrs shouldn't be having these issues.
Any advice?
