Default UPDATE: Nov 18, 2010

I picked up the LT on Monday from the audio/video installer. Looks and sounds great...but I had to take it straight to the tuner shop I use for all the other mods so I didn't have time to tune the EQ on the HU to my taste yet...everything is set flat but it still sounds pretty damn good.

I have no lack of bass...and the front separates are strong enough that they aren't overpowered by the bass up front and in the rear.

The steering controls still work as far as volume up and down on the HU and the Onstar speaker...oh we had to add a separate speaker under the dash specifically for Onstar use...still works great. Also, all the chimes work, too.

The following are pics from the tuner shop...they were working on the SLP exhaust dual tips when I was leaving...nice quality piece...along with the new rear taillights. Most of the trim pieces came back painted but not put on yet...waiting for the steering wheel trim pieces to get back from paint. The OE step rails upgrade came in along with the color coded splash guards today.

It's going to take a couple of more days (hopefully by next Tuesday) for all the HID work (low beams and fogs) to be done. Monday the wheels go on...the Brembo brakes were shipped yesterday for possible delivery Monday or Tuesday so they may not be put on until after Thanksgiving since I wanted the LT for Wednesday trip to Orlando for Thanksgiving.

All in all...no real surprises. I like the new front grille and the gas cap...I can't wait for the new headlights and taillights to get finished, though.

Enjoy...

I just wanted to confirm the OE subwoofer was 5 inches...wow

I hear you...the thing with tow hook grille covers is that they still need adjustment to them. Up close there is a small gap to them...but that should be minimized by tightening the bolts on the bracket holding the grill to the LT. As far the style, my initial impression is that I like them and should grow on me more...I just need to see all the modifications put together to get a better feel on the cohesiveness of the style.

I can always take them off and switch to billet/chrome look tow hooks instead of the grilles...

Be aware that there have been reports of HIDs melting the stock fogs.

When I installed my chrome gas cover, I had to slot the mounting holes in order to center the cover. Might check it.

Was the grill an overlay or cutout? More of a billet grill myself but to each his own. Looking good.

Default Update: NOv 19 Pics

Stopped by the shop late yesterday afternoon and took some pics...

On Monday the wheels and tires will finally get on...the new front headlights will get wired in along with the HID low beams and fogs. From what the guys at the shop told me the bulbs will be 6000K. They wlll also pop in the newly painted interior trim pieces, too.

The badging will get taken off (LT, Flexfuel, and the dealer name) on Monday, too. I'm leaving the Suburban lettering, though.

The 6000K bulbs will probably get you flashed since they are more blue than OEM HIDs are.

Looking good. Why the Stingray?

I did notice that the rear bumper cover is the original design. Wonder why? The sales brochure shows both the original and the new one. Not sure what's going on here. Reason that I even noticed it was because the new design incorporates the receiver cover whereas the original had it as an add-on.

Stingray is the dealer...getting that taken off. I'll talk to the shop about the 6000k and possibility of getting pulled over. I didn't even know that there was a newer design on the rear hitch cover...

4300K is white. The hotter you go, it goes from blue to purple and lower goes to yellow.

It's not just the hitch cover that's different. It's the bumper cover and the hitch cover. A review of the previous sales brochures indicates that it was changed for the '09 model year. Not sure why the '11s would have gone back to the old design where the hitch cover was an afterthought. Maybe it is just the LTZs that have the new design.

Stopped by the shop around 4pm and found that the wheels weren't on yet...kind of disappointed but they assured me that tomorrow morning would be the day. They were messing with the new headlights and the HID wiring most of the day.

They plugged in most of the interior bits (except for steering wheel trim). The good thing is the Brembo kit came in today...the MF'ers (caliper and rotor) are huge. They will test fit them tomorrow but the install of the brake kit and the lowering kit won't happen until next week (after Thanksgiving). Also, I decided to leave the caliper red with white lettering...just enough red to balance out the rear taillights.
