Default Back Lift Gate

I bought my 07 Tahoe used and the back gate will not open. The glass will open with the key fob. There is no button for the gate on my key fob or inside near the sunroof controls. I have seen horror stories of having to replace the motor but I am hoping it could be something else. Thanks for the help.

You have the wrong key fob. And the button to open the lift gate is right in the middle of the handle

Welcome to the forum.

There should be a rocker style button on the overhead console that either locks or opens the hatch. There's a button for the glass to the right of the rear license under the bezel.

trainwreck is right re: the fob. Should be two buttons on it, one for the hatch and one for the glass. Just squeeze the inner rubber surface on the rear hatch handle.

That's what I thought was weird, my key fob has the button for the glass but that's it no gate button. When I press the rubber button on the handle to open the gate, nothing happens. I have checked the fuse for the gate but it is fine. There is no button on the overhead console either, just the 2 for my sunroof controls. I guess I should have included this on my original post. Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah there should be an on/off button next to the sunroof button that controls the hatch. I guess not all burb/hoes are the same. Idk what else to tell you. But you can buy a new fob on eBay from keyless king for ~$15. Easy to program
