You're absolutely correct; I did already know that, and I also know that the ARM7 circuit handles all the security functions for subscriptions. But all this jive doesn't have one damn thing to do with why XM and Sirius have poor sound quality. The ARM946E-S is used in EVERY Sirius receiver! and they all sound marginal.

Let's start with XM Einstein, and how "bandwidth" has nothing to do with sound quality (as you so ignorantly pointed out earlier), don't just throw around some stupid meaningless audio decoder part numbers that you found with Google and try to act like you know what the hell it is you’re talking about.

If you replace the Fetzer Valve with a new Flux Capacitor rated at 1.21 Gigawatts, you'll be able to achieve maximum quality audio at 88 MPH.

Potato... Potahto. Gigawatts... Jiggawatts.

I couldn't have been too far off - you knew EXACTLY what I was referring to. ;-)

Hello TPeezy,

I don't know if this is applicable to you (as you do not have the NAV head unit), but there is a program update that includes a fix for low volume.
https://chevroletforum.com/m_14997/tm.htm
I have low volume myself (w/NAV radio) and am trying to get it back to the dealer this week so they can check to see if I have the latest update (here's hoping I can get it fixed).
I almost exclusively listen to XM... have had a subscription in otherautos for years now.
Frosty
Thanks man I appreciate it. Does anybody know if this fix is ONLY for owners with NAV units. Cause I just have the stock headunit in. Also are there others who have a complaint about the volume not being loud enough with stock head units?

The service update to address low volume is only applicable to the navigation radios.

My 17 year-old kid also complains that it doesn't get load enough but I have a hard time believing him, he also told me that he'd pay me back for his new truck last year.

Make sure that you are turning the volume of your iPod up all the way.

I test drove 2 Avalanches---1 with Bose and 1 without. I liked the sound of the system without Bose better than with. Plus, if I wanted to spend that kind of money on a stereo, I would buy an aftermarket setup.
