Ihave an 03 tahoe. The parking brake light is staying on (without parking brake engaged) and on start up message center displays service brake system. There is also a small pump located under the driver side door that will not stop running so i pulled the plug to turn it off.I am thinking that it is a boost pump?? Does anybody have any ideas? thanks for the help

 

The motor is call the Supplemental Brake Assist (SBA) motor, replace it with an updated motor GM part #89040236 to correct that problem.

Does your park brake work correctly other then the light remaining on?

 

Not really parking brake is kinda loose. but i thought that was just bacause of the lift and tires i am running.... so that pump just went bad?

 

could it also be a sensor some where that could have went bad?

 

i went to the chevy dealership. and they told me that it was the abs motor? do you know anything about that?

 

im having the same problem the abs pump running when key off help
