a/c air flow problem 2004 suburban
my a/c was switching to full heat, I could pull over and stop the engine for a minute and it would come back on a/c.. I was told it was probably the actuator on the driver side because the air usually still worked on the pass. side. I replaced the actuator and it seemed to help for about a week. Then the whole thing started again and the pass. side would go to heat. I put it in the shop and they had it a week trying to figure this out. they replaced the other actuators and even the one I had previously replace. Well now it works on a/c or heat whichever you set it to but I am not able to get it to go from floor to dash or to defrost. it just stays on dash, most of the time "". The shop gave up and cut the bill. I can at least select the temperature but need ideas how to get the control back on how to be able to select where the air is sent ???
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
Did the shop test your A/C and heater control? It is possible that the control unit needs to be replaced and is no longer working properly. Since you now have all new actuators, it has to be either the control unit or wiring that is causing your current problems.
If you need the control module, you can get it from gmpartsdirect.com. The module MSRP is $255.36 and sells online for $132.79
A dealer or someone with a GM scanner could test the control module and read any codes, if there are any.
Good luck with the repair.

Yes, I am going to double check with them tomorrow and get them to give me a more detailed list of what all they did. They seemed to be very helpful and open about it but just could not find the problem. I am afraid it is like you mentioned, a wire problem....
