Default Can someone please tell me what this switch is?

I just bought a used 04 Suburban 1500 and cannot, for the life of me, figure out what this switch is. Any help? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

My wife's 2004 Tahoe didn't have that. Maybe it's an aftermarket add-on. Does the owner's manual shed any light?

My guess is an after-market microphone for hands-free....

My first thought was that it was an aftermarket something or other. But in searching pictures of other Suburbans, I see other cars with it as well. In fact, the picture is not of my car, just an identical car I found I found on the internet.

It slides back and forth, about a quarter inch in travel and it feels like some sort of switch. But, if it does something, I can't figure out what it is.

Possibly the master switch for rear dvd? Maybe auto dimming for the mirrors?

No DVD. I'll see if it effects the mirror tonight. Thanks!

Might try and drop the roof console and see if even has wires attached... and if so trace them back to origin....

I have a slight history of taking things apart and not being able to get them back together. I can live with the mystery. If no one else knows what it is, it can't be all that critical.

i googled suburban onstar microphone and found a few references to the onstart mic being clipped to the side of the overhead console, I'd say its that.
