Default Cluster help

Pictures don't really show but I bought this for 2500, it's pretty rough but runs well. Bought it for an audio build. Prndl and odometer are out, if I got a replacement from say a junkyard would the miles be correct on the cluster? I don't have an idea of the mileage and neither did the guy I bought it from. He said atleast 200k but I'm curious to really know

Welcome to the forum. I've heard in the past that the mileage stays with the cluster odometer. But I am definitely not sure of that.
