UPDATE:

FPR was replaced this weekend...still having a hard start issue...but not as bad (5 seconds vs 15 seconds). However I am not sure if its more of near dead battery (colder then crap here and the Tahoe only moves once a week) so I cant say for sure....that and I need to but a Fuel Pressure Gauge on her to see if I still have the massive leak down problem.

Update...fully charged battery and still having the hard start issues...but when COLD (engine)....replacing fuel pump relay today...figure it cant hurt and it will at least eliminate it as a possible issue.

Fuel pump relay replaced...still have the same issue. Hard starts. I added fuel cleaner (techron) to clean the injectors.

What I am noticing...is white smoke on days under 50*...a little rough idle after I start up and it feels like the darn tranny doenst back down when I take my foot of the gas at times.

Sounds exactly like mine. I'm trying to get it figured out also. Fuel filter didn't fix it. I get two codes saying that I'm running lean on both sides of the motor. Curious to see what you find out.

You said a rough idle when cold, but is it OK when it warms up?

No codes for faulty O2 sensors?

I am just wondering if you might have a sticking EGR valve.

Man what a pain in the butt! I hope you get this figured out soon.

No codes, since I started having this issue (and this thread) I have:

1) replaced fuel filter
2) replaced FPR
3) clean airfilter
4) Clean TB
5) Clean IAC
6) recharged battery (just incase)
7) ran Techron in it...twice

Currently I have two bottles of Techron (the treats 20 gal ones) in the tank and ran her down to half a tank, then added 5oz of Sea Foam and refilled her...the injectors are going to be clean so I can eliminate them from the trouble shooting process.

PastorK...check your fuel pressure...should be around 60lbs. YOu might have a weak fuel pump or a weak FPR.

Would a stuck EGR cause cold start issues? I can crank her for 10 seconds and it wont catch. Stop and thry again and she start in 5 seconds.
