Default Collapsed lifter

I replaced the exhaust lifter on the cylinder 6 about a month ago. Just a few days ago my CEL started blinking while driving down the highway. Today(3-21-2020), I removed the valve cover on the passenger side of the engine and find the same lifter on cylinder 6 that I recently replaced is collapsed again. Can some someone tell me what is the cause for the same lifter i just replaced? I would greatly appreciate any input.

Just a recommendation, use an approved part, such as ac/delco, go from there.

When you replaced the lifter the first time. did you use a brand new one? Make sure that the parts store sells you the correct lifter for your engine.

I got new ones from autozone. I was did some research last night and came across about replacing the VLOM when you replace the lifters. I was thinking that the solenoid on the VLOM for cylinder 6 is bad thats why the lifter failed immediately.
