Cracked Dash Issue - 2008 Hybrid Tahoe

I got another call from GM Social Media and they have basically said the decision is up to the dealer as to what deal will be offered.
I explained that I do not believe I should have to pay 1/2 of the repair for a defective part, regardless if I was the original owner, or if I had previously spent money at Carl Black GMC. Neither of those 2 items change the fact that GM has a defective dash that they are unwilling to resolve, unwilling to provide customer care.
I guess this is where it will end. I have started another thread to replace the dash on my own. https://chevroletforum.com/forum/tah...-hybrid-62347/
I did already discover that there is a new version of the dash with structural reinforcements in the crack areas, although the service manager at Carl Black lied and said there was no revised dash.

Once you get rolling with more info on the replacement process thread, I'll get it sticky'ed so it will stay at the top for a while...

I got another random call from GM just before Christmas. This time the man said my case had been escalated to the "Executive" whatever that means. He actually called back on the 26th as well to tell me they were still looking into it. LOL. I did not hold my breath.
He has since not bothered to call back. He probably just called Carl Black GM in Roswell and spoke with the slippery service manager who told him what he told me already -that they only fix defects in $55K trucks if you have spent considerable $ at the dealer on other stuff. I suppose thats the last I will hear about it, and also the last penny GM will extract from me. I will update if the "executive" dept from GM customer service calls me back.
Im still searching for install instructions so I can fix this dash myself, will post when i find some.
