Default Cruise Control Issues and Brake Lights staying on

Hello! I’ve researched this a bit, and read through the posts here, but nothing seems to have the answer I need so here’s my issue.

2010 Suburban 2500 LT. Cruise light turns on but cruise didn’t work. Found on this forum about the brake light switch. Replaced that last week. Cruise works randomly now. And I’ve noticed that when I press the brakes hard, the brake lights stay on unless I kick the left side of the brake pedal. Then they go off and the cruise functions as it should.

What’s causing this, and what’s the solution?

Thanks I’m advance for the help!

Sounds like a replacement problem or a faulty switch. Check all the areas on the brake pedal and where it is all mounted.

I’m on the third one now, surely that can’t still be the cause? Everything around the pedal is tight and secure.

Well, ok, you did not mention anything before about 3 switches, that would have been good info to know up front. What brand of switches were they? The other thing that can cause problems like what you are talking about is either a burned out light at the rear or rear taillight ground problems or when you reconnected the wiring to the new switch, the wire ends are pushing out of the connector or are not pinched tight enough on the pin spades. Asking, does the turn signal switch involved in this circuit?

lol, information wasn’t provided up front because it didn’t exist up front. I just installed the 3rd switch today, and still have the issues. One was a factory replacement from AutoZone and the other was from Napa. Both tail lights work fine. All lights work as should.
