DIC on 2006 Tahoe not working…

DIC on 2006 Tahoe not working…
We finally got our Chevy Tahoe LT – 5.3lt 2006 model with low mileage. We need to tow our trailer (Trail-lite crossover 189QB – 3500lb loaded).<o></o>
This is my first full size SUV - I love to ride this thing. Our first trip in the Georgia mountains was very exciting, my Tahoe did great. I’ll install next week an additional auxiliary transmission cooler and a temp gauge, just to be on the safe side…<o></o>

We got the Tahoe some 3 weeks ago from a dealer, as is – no warranty. The DIC never worked, but I can see the odometer and engine hours after pressing the reset button on the cluster.<o></o>
The odometer reading is working fine but none of the four lower buttons are working.<o></o>
I think I've already read a hundred posts about the DIC… No results for me.<o></o>
Is there a way to initiate this aggravating thing? <o></o>
Our local Chevy stealer is awful expensive and ignorant (to say the least…)<o></o><o></o>
