Welcome to the forum.

Was anything done to the head unit between the time it worked and when it didn't?

Default Nav dvd

Is it a 'real' DVD or a copy?

pull it out and does it look like a movie DVD (shiney grey/silver) or is it bluish purple on the bottom and say DVD+R DL on it?

if you don't copy it right, it won't work... and will say that.

Ebay has tons of real DVDs...

mine says the same thing. I even bought a brand new 2011 disc from the dealer and still wouldn't work. I know this is an old post but any updates?

Might try running a DVD cleaning disc through the reader to removed any dust that might be on the read head.

Default to starz nav problem

I had the same problem with my nav. It worked then it didn't so I pulled the radio out. Put it back in the next day and it started working again. But before u do that disconnect the battery and let it sit for 45mins to an hour then turn it on and check.

I took the radio out, unplugged it, and let it sit for a while. I hooked everything back up and still the same. I already tried the dvd cleaner. It got stuck inside and when I finally managed to get it out, it still didn't work.

How often do these navigation systems go bad?
