Default disconnet battey - help

Hi,
I'm about disconnect battery because my clock is not working on DVD/NAVI unit, but i found this article about it and now am scared

...... Here is a short list of some of the problems that can occur when disconnecting or replacing the battery on the following vehicle applications (refer to the OEM service literature for specific model and year applications and cautions):
Chevy Tahoe Loss of voltage to the vehicle electrical system causes the 4WD module to go to sleep permanently. The module never wakes back up when power is restored, and the only way to restore normal 4WD operation is to replace the module with a new one (a repair that may cost you over a hundred dollars!)....

Is it true or false ???

I've replaced batteries in a 2004 and a 2007 w/o detrimental results.

The vehicle modules will go through a learning curve after power is restored.
You should drive the vehicle long enough for it to warm up and drive it like you would at a brake in period, meaning drive normal, no hard accelerations, avoid high speeds and hard stops for a drive cycle..
You will probably have to program your clock and maybe your radio stations...
You can get a settings keeper that plugs into the cigarette lighter and runs off a 9v battery to keep the radio and clock memory...

Default well

how are you attempting to 'set' the clock?

I think you just press the clock to set it.

absolutely

Menu button, clock (top right):

All i see is separation dots, set for minutes and hours + and -, and 12 or 24 hours show.

Is there something, i don't do right ?

I tried to unplug radio for 10-15 min. but when i put it back, there was all like before. Looks like radio have own backup battery.

I dont know what to do. My last chance is this : https://chevroletforum.com/forum/sho...77&postcount=4

Or, do you have any advice ?

Thx

I suspect that instead of a battery, it has a non-volatile memory that stores all of the station presets.

In my old Tahoe the radio was out for 4 years. When I traded it in I put the factory radio back in and all the stations were still there.
