DoD questions
Hi I'm trying to figure out what is the most budget friendly way to kill DOD
I see there is OBDII modules you can plug in.
There is Diablo tuner
And actually removing valve train.
Is there another way?
On hondas you can sauder 2 resistors on Engine coolant temp to make pcm think its not up to temp and not engage AFM
also which bolt on can I expect hp gain?
thanks

Tune or plug in module. I've been using the Range AFM killer for years now, no issues. At 134k miles now.
Honda resistor thing is a fail. That puts it into a richer mode and shortens cat life as well as running motor too rich.
There are no bolt ons that make any more real power other than a supercharger kit. All the cold air kits, spacers, mufflers, etc. are a rip off. Better to put that money into a supercharger kit if you really want a tank to wake up. Taking all the junk and its weight out of the back will get you more performance.
A tune can get a few hp but a canned tune with trans. reprograming will make it more enjoyable to drive with some safety in the engine.

Intake and TB spacers do nothing no matter what the maker claims except take you money. Louder intake noise makes one think you have more power. If you're in an emissions state then headers and exhaust will make it not pass inspections.
Research tunes, ones that reprogram the ECM. If you've got an older small block truck and not a LS engine then there is really no tune that does anything worth a darn but make your wallet lighter.

thanks for the feeback, I would have to disagree. Air intake and TB spacers. do work. its not much but on my 2013 Acura TL v6 i I installed first the T B spacer and seen almost a 5% MPG increase. as far as the Cold air intake it makes a huge difference especially if you have a cold air intake, not a a in engine bay type. you need to be delivering outside air not engine
hot air. most cold air intakes give about 15-20 hp depends on engine size. The tunes is the way go after you do FBO. Intake, Headers, Exhaust. I did a stage 3 tune on my TL and what a difference. i went from 0-60 in 4.89 sec to 4.2sec.
