DVD disc will not play in 2009 Suburban
I have a 2009 LTZ we recently purchased. CD's play fine, but I have been unable to play a DVD. When a DVD disc is inserted it tries to read it- then displays "Disc read error". The slot is for both CD and DVD discs an dI cannot figure out why the DVD won't play. I also noticed the the unit does not have the "DVD" logo on the bottom left corner, but do not know if this matters or not.

Is it a factory installed unit? No DVD logo makes me suspicious. "SabrToothSqrl" asks a good question regarding rear screens. Just because the system will take a DVD disc when it is inserted, doesn't mean that it will play them. Any additional information you can provide may help.

I have RSE with DVD pull down screens on the second and third row. I am assuming it is factory installed, it looks just like the ones I see in pictures online in other Tahoes and Suburbans, but lacks the DVD logo. I also looked on Chevy's main website to look at pictures of the unit on the new Suburbans, and they did not have the logo on the corner...Really confused here

I have the Rear Seat Entertainment with the DVD mounted on the ceiling of the vehicle... the DVD is the top slot the CD/MP3 is the lower slot...
I have found that the DVD will also play CD/MP3's
Note the DVD and DTS logo that 73shark mentioned.
