73shark- yes the speakers say Bose on them. It just doesn't make sense to me though that the unit would be non-RSE when I have two screens mounted on the ceiling like in2pro is describing. I wonder if it is possible the unit was incorrectly installed or maybe changed out at some point....and I have one CD/DVD slot, the owners manual says it is integrated. I am just trying to figure out what the issue is to see if I can correct it or not

If the issue is that the incorrect until is in place then I want the dealership to change it out

I'm guessing the rear seat console and both screens have been searched for DVD slot?
Are you using an out of the box DVD and not a burned or copied one?
I have noticed my RSE can be finicky about burned DVD's

I have searched to see if there was another DVD slot, but have not found one. I have tried about 10 DVDs from the store, none are burned copies

My guess is the previous owners 1. never used it and never noticed it OR 2 the most likely, the head unit was swapped out...

Check your PRO codes in the glove box check for U42 which should be the rear seat entertainment system RSE.

Are there any noticeable mods to the vehicle that a previous owner may have installed?

Not at all, nothing has been changed on the vehicle

If it is a factory flub, do you think I will have a hard time trying to get them to fix it? It is also a certified used vehicle with a current Bumper-to-Bumper warranty. Would that cover this issue?

It was a Fleet vehicle, so I guess it is possible that it wasn't used before

It should be covered by a B2B warranty. Also being a "certified used vehicle" should be worth something.

Bottom line is I don't think that's the original head unit.

Default Update

Just wanted to update- I took my Suburban to the dealership today. They said that it is "not communicating properly" and they ordered me a new one! Having it put in on Friday, thank goodness for warranties! Thank you for your help
