Default E-Brake Cables

I have a 2000 Tahoe. My question is about the emergency brake cable routing. This what I have from when I bought it. The right side has a hanger but droops down. Is this the usual routing? I can hook them both up. over the stabilizer bar but this doesn't seem correct. Anyone have a pic of the OEM placement?

The metal bands around the cable are where the original clips held it to the frame. I'd just zip tie it up to the frame as clips have long ago dissolved.
By the looks of the rust I'd check to see how much frame you have left holding the spare tire lift in before it falls out. Same for the rear diff. cover, I had it rust through and leak on my old '99 Yukon. Dealer in my area had it in stock so it's a common thing to happen in the salt zone.

Thanks. I'll check those things out. It came from Florida but like most people there it's not from there, it spent it's first 10 years in Minnesota. The spare is a something I need to look at, I think it's the OEM tire and never been out.
