Default Engine won't run-Idiot lights off

I took off the instrument panel to find that there was no bulb in the ABS slot which explained why that light never came on during start up. When I put it back on, only the PRNDL light comes on and the vehicle won't stay running (it turns over but dies when you let the key back to run). Did I activate the security system by taking the gauge cluster off??

Really frustrated.

It sounds like the Gauges fuse 4 in the I/P fuse block blew. Maybe there's a short near the ABS lamp socket?

You were right on. Fuse 4 had blown and I took the socket for the ABS off for now.

Thanks! I was worried I killed something.

Glad to hear you got it running. Thinking bad thoughts about whoever it was that "fixed" the problem last.

It makes you wonder since this vehicle had a safety inspection before I bought it and the ABS light would have been on (if it had a bulb!!!). I guess it would be a lot to remove the dash to see if all the bulbs are actually there.
