You don't have the traction control disable button on the center console?

I do. But its never off unless you are in 4 Low. In 4 HI with traction "off" (hit the button, DIC says "traction control off") when you stomp it to do doughnuts you start spinning wheels and get going in a circle and then traction light goes from solid on to flashing and it starts cutting the motor power. Even with our old burb, traction could never truly be turned off. 99% of cars are like this. Why do you think top gear hates car software designers? They always want traction 100% off, but rarely do they get a car that it can be truly turned off.....

Joe, what would happen if you took the fuse out that covers the stabiltrack? Would it cut out the 4wd all together?

Lots of people do that on their sports cars to truly disable the ESP. Works on my Magnum

hold button in for 5 seconds entire system will be shut off until you shut truck off

I just drove from WA. State, through Idaho, Montana, WY......to East Texas,through a whole lot of snow, and my Tahoe did amazing. It handled the deep snow in E.WA. last year too. I have been very impressed with my Tahoe.
