Default fuel gauge problem

Has anyone else experienced problems with their fuel gauge?
One day last week I went somewhere in my Tahoe and the low fuel warning came on and the needle was on the empty line. I knew that last time I had looked it said I had a half of a tank. When I finished work and got back in my Tahoe it was back to half a tank. It has since done this about 5 times. So sometimes I forget what it used to say and I'm afraid I'm about out of gas. I've experienced it when the car was hot or cold. Just wondering if anyone else has seen the same thing.

Default RE: fuel gauge problem

Only once and it was headed downhill. Displayed ~3/8 tank when I parked and displayed low fuel when I got back in later.
