Can someone tell me how many gallons are left in the tank when the light comes on, I have an 2003 Tahoe.
Thanks

I think its somewhat subjective to the angle of the tank, but I believe the general consensus is about 2-3 gallons... but don't count on that gas being fully available, if you start on any incline up or down, that fuel may not be available to the fuel pump.... if the light comes on I would strongly suggest getting fuel very soon...

The fuel pump is a known issue in the GMT800 trucks. The fuel helps keep the pump cool. I wouldn't recommend running it down to fumes, especially when it's warm outside.

Myself, I rarely let the tank go below 1/2 on my '01 Burb.

Thanks everyone, I usually don't let it get that low, having a debate with the wife.
