Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

"use that money for some 20" wheels instead"

Why would a kid waste time and trouble registering on a forum to post questions about a tahoe? The reason I said I would scratch the z71 package is because im hearing that the ride is alot stiffer and less luxurious and also the tires are aggressive and soft after they wear to half their life they become loud. The Z71 option is like $1500, 20" polished wheels from factory are $1700 so thats why I said "I will use that money for some 20" wheels instead.Im 28 and will be buying a tahoe within the month. Any other theories you have investigator?

If I had a Z71, I'd keep the factory 18's or some other lightweight 18" or even 17" wheels to maintain a better ride and sidewall flex off road. It's a fact that as wheel size increases, performance decreases. Most LT3 trucks will already have 20" factory wheels. If not, and you're looking for the best ride, stay with 18" wheels max. Bigger wheels are only bling. They add weight, cost, a stiffer ride, and degrade both power and braking.

LUXURY PACKAGE:
AUTO DIMMING ISRV MIRROR
HEATED FRONT SEATS
HEATED 2ND ROW SEATS
2ND ROW PWR SEAT RELEASE
OUTSIDE HTD, PWR-ADJUSTABLE
PWR-FOLDING MIRRORS
POWER LIFTGATE W/ LIFTGLASS
UNIVERSAL HOME REMOTE

why dont you go drive them then? there are Z71 trucks and Tahoes all over, they are not that much stiffer. the Tahoe is based of the Chevy truck platform, it will not ride like a cushy Lexus no matter what you do...if that is what you want then you should look at something else.

and sorry you fooled me if you really are 28 and registering takes all of 3 minutes, not much trouble. you posted 1 question then when people didnt give you answers right away you said this forum "blows"

The 20" wheel/tire combo will be a little stiffer ride due to the shorter sidewall than the Z/71 tires.

the 20" wheel equipped Tahoe rides stiffer.. period. Drove them both, but got a great deal on my LTZ, I drove a TBSS with 20's so i was used to the stiffer ride anyway.. The 20" wheels really help with the handling but will ride a bit more harsh over road irregularities.
