Default headlight buzzer on 1995 suburban

My headlight/key buzzer won't shut off so I pulled the relay, but keep forgetting to turn headlights off........

Do you guys think it's a failed relay?

Thanks.

It is more likely an issue with the ignition switch. My 1996 does that sometimes, with the key out, and if I stick the key back in and turn a little, I can get it to stop. I sprayed WD40 into the switch and it helped stop it for a while.

Of course, I know my ignition switch is worn out... I can pull the key back out with it in the run position, and the engine keeps going!

My 1970 VW beetle has been like that since 1978 !!! I got home from work one day and my brother's girlfriend - who he'd just told never to contact him again - was sitting there waiting for him, and I was so pi$$ed I pulled the key right out while the engine was running. So after that I would pull the key out while driving to unlock its glove box to pull out a different cassette tape to play, always surprised passengers !

Thank you sir, that does make sense. My dad used to shoot graphite in the ignition switch, maybe I'll try that.

tried graphite, it worked temporarily, then tried PB blaster, no love. I guess I'll just live with it.

Thanks all.

To protect my cassette tapes, and to prevent entry into the trunk....

Following up on this; I ended up tracking down which connector was for the key chime and took a set of dikes to it, problem solved.
