help: Door lock problem
It's very disappointing hearing all the problems customers are having with the power door locks and that Chevy refuses to support their customers by recalling or helping replace the actuators. The power locks on my 2009 Tahoe are not working either. It started with one lock awhile ago (right after the warranty was done-of course) and has progressed to all but one lock not working. While it should not matter how much you pay for a vehicle, I would think that a company would stand behind their $50,000 vehicles. We've spent A LOT of money purchasing Chevy vehicles these past 4 years and to now see that Chevy doesn't stand behind their products make me wonder what to expect from the two recently purchased products. Has anyone reported this to Consumer Fraud, the Better Business Bureau, or the media?

I went to this store, to price out an alarm for the truck.. And the story goes on.I say well, i gotta wait to buy .I gotta fix a 2008 door actuator. He talls me he has that too.. for 35$. Im like huh?? 35$? FO REAL???, I said, you sure this fixes the door lock actuator on a 2008 'Burban.. he says yes. So i come home to watch the youtube videos, They have a completely different piece.. And im like WTF is this i got??
I guess, some things i just have to go to the dealership for, cause now i have a piece, and dunno wtf its for. ANd my door still has to be manually locked and Unlocked!

that lock actuator in your picture is actually a really good one.. I had to replace the ones in my wife's old mini-van and used that exact brand, got if from Amazon.. HOWEVER, you are correct that it will not work for the Tahoe/Burb as it is a completely different animal... the person that sold it to you is not familiar with the newer style...
I have 08 Suburban. I have on it just 21000 miles. No warantie. Is out. I contact Chevrolet custumer service, they make case # and tell me take it to the dealer, for estament. I pay $ 60000 for the truck. Lots of money for single mom with disable son. I read all over the internet that there are broblems with the locks. Also my dashboard has crack. When I take it to the dealer, they want $ 250 for the lock and $ 100 for the dashboard, that is known problem. If is that known problem why is that not recal? Why I should pay anything. Is not like I have some Hunday. They give better warranty than Chevy. Customer service contact me back and say they can't do nothing for me, because my bumper to bumper warranty is out. So as you can see, Is no matter how many miles you have. I purchase this one with all the whistles, because I need it for my son wheelchair, and have to keep it if I like it or not. I still make payments, and event don't talk about the gas. I don't know what else to do. I wonder if is that hard to replace the lock actuator myself. I'm pretty handy woman.
Ok I have the case # also. 71-1226997382. My name is Libuse Harris Brown, Killeen, TX, 254-634-2609. I be very happy if you could help me. I'm not the only one who has this problem and there should be recal for the door locks and the dashboards.
Thank you in advance and hope to hear from you soon.

My chevy piece of crap took a dump again. This time the dr side actuator has failed. Noticed the door handle is becoming loose. As I went around a corner the door actually flew open. Thank god I was only going about 10 mpg. I immediately pulled over and filed a complaint with highway safety. Then took the car to the dealer and they informed me it would be 300 bucks to replace it. That's amazing considering they charged me only 100 to fix the passenger side less than a year before. I've received no response from chevy not highway safety. I only received a case number. I am just waiting for the door to fail again and I am going right to my attorney because I am sure I will be injured or at least mentally injured when it happens again. Please please please do not ever buy a gmc product again and if you do, be prepared to clean up the fecal matter that these products dump.
I'm waiting also. I wonder how long that will take. Chevrolet admit you have problem and do recall for the doors and dashboards. This is a harassment to customer who spend arm and leg for those vehicles. I need my vehicle, I can't live in the shops. My son has seizures and I need my truck 24/7/365.
I just got call from Chevy. Chevy talk to my dealer and they want to give me 10% discount, that's $ 25.00 I say No. My Suburban is in shop now for the dashboard. That is $ 100.00. I'm going to pick it up now. I'm tired to talk to them for well known problem. I think is time to send ABC Investigate on them. Public. That's what they need. All that is wasting time.
