Default HELP... Have to replace my throttle body on my 02 suburban help and advice?

i need to replace my throttle body ib my 02 suburban and i dont want to buy a rebuilt one since those cost $300 i would rather buy a new one for that price. But for the 02 the throttle body is discontinued. Is their anyway i can buy a 03 and up throttle body and just change the connector for it? Or what would you guy recommend me doing? Thanks

Rock Auto shows one for your Burb. Different build then the 2003 model TB. $257 bucks.

Why are you against a rebuilt one? Why not have your old one rebuilt?

I have searched and heard conflicting stories about rebuilt throttle bodys etc. So I'm kinda conflicted about it. Also if i do rebuild mine does that come with new TAC sensor etc?

If the old one is bad, I am sure it would be replaced.

They make throttle body repair kits so you can do it yourself. You will have to check with shops in your area to find out if they do the repair and how long it will take. It is simpler to get a rebuilt one from a quality rebuilder.

Back in the days of Carburetors, it was common to see the throttle body valve shafts had direct contact with the aluminum body. Steel and aluminum don't mix, so they had shops that could install a brass or bronze bushings so that the carb wasn't worn out and sucking in dirty atmo into the motor, and throwing the stoichiometric mix off.

Noting wrong with using rebuilt items on vehicles, including a rebuilt Throttle Body unit. Sometimes they even work better then the new OEM part or parts!
