I currently drive a Cadillac CTS but I am in the market for an SUV for the reason that am 6'3 and the CTS is too small for me and I feel much more comfortable in a truck. Now the problem is I cant decide what truck to get. Out of the "American Suvs" I only like the new Tahoe and Escalade, I pretty much ruled the Escalade out due to the price and the Tahoe gets better mileage on top of that(cheaper insurance too). Now another part of me like "Euro Suvs" like the new Audi Q7 and the new BMW X5. I know they are too totally different animals but all of them suit my needs size wise and it is causing me to be very indecisive. I know for the Audi and BMW the overall price will probaly be a few thousand more and you probaly get less, and I believe there is also less roomspace in both of these compared to the Tahoe however they are "European" which = better quality than the American Chevy. Please help me decide without being bias I would appreciate it thanks.

Whatever you decide on, don't get a sunroof as you lose 2"-3" of headroom.

 

Well my husband is 6 foot 5 and we have a new gx 470 and it is far too small for him to drive and we have a new tahoe and he loves it for the room..... He had a 05 yukon lx and hated he milage as it had 8.1 motor... got 7 miles a gallon. Go for the tahoe plus this group is outstanding for any help... Marie

This forum is a great resource to get pro's and con's for the Tahoes. Just keep in mind when it comes down to it - you are going to have to convince yourself. I would definately check out all the candidates in person and take each for a test drive. I was surprised how many vehicles I test drove that I thought I would like, but found them to be totally different than expected. Needless to say, I love my Tahoe.

 

If I could go back I would have went with the Escalade...Bigger engine, more power, crazy luxury.... Dont get me wrong my 07 Tahoe is Sick...they did a good job on the 07s. But I get smoked by every Escalade even with all my mods....For 5-10k more...depending on what package you get...the Caddy is the way to go. My sticker was 49k...caddy is only 55...and I got 2wd....2 cents

I'm 6'6" and with the sunroof it almost is too low...

However... The rounded ceiling look without the sunroof doesnt look very good either....
The look with the sunroof is much better looking

 

I did not know you lose so much if you get a sunroof. I really want a sunroof but might not be able to get one now. am thinking that the q7 and x5 might be to small and heading more toward the tahoe. How is Gas Mileag on the Tahoe in comparision to the Escalade? I heard the Tahoe gets alot more. I think the engine in the Escalade is impractical for me since I live in NYC and do mostly city driving(no towing etc.)
