HELP - Service Stabilitrak & Service Traction Control
The Stabilitrak and traction light issue I had with my 2007 Tahoe seems to be resolved (by replacing the body control module). Since it is a dealer who did the work, I want to assume they are honest people. So far, no further problem arose.
To trainwreck: What is the "MAF SENSOR"?

Bought my truck Brand New on Aug 16th 2005. My FIRST Brand new Vehicle! I was so excited!
- On Oct 13th 2005 - 2,800 miles bringing in for first time with cluck noise with message of service tire monitor and service stabilitrak. Dealer replaced intermediate Strg Shaft.
-On Nov 16th 2005 - 3,747 miles having problems with message stating service stabilitrak . When accelerating - it would slip in gears and hear clunks. Dealer did PCM software update. Dealer replaced torsion bar crossmember bushings.
-On Nov 30th 2005 with only 4,000 miles having problems with stabilitrak and traction problems again or still! Dealer said he was unable to communicate with ABS control module with scan tool. Dealer then replaced Electronic Brake Control Module at that point.
- Since then, I have had the truck into dealer over 25 times. I now only have them do my free oil changes and let me know I need new windshield wiper blades and all my bulbs are burnt out.
- I replaced the Body Control Module in 2009. Dealer has never fixed the problem with the stabilitrak (some codes C0131 C0455). They told me in 2011 that my extended warranty doesn't cover software updates anymore. Now, 2014 I have no more warranty on truck. This truck has had nothing but problems since the day I drove it off the lot.
Dealer has replaced on top of list above:
leaking axle (23,000 miles)
rear gate latch/lock assembly
Front inner tie rod
Blower resistor and connector
Driver seat module
Driver sear cushion element
Fuel sender and gasket
Rear window motor
steering wheel switch
IPC (Speedometer Stopped working)
I know there is more but cant remember all or can't find invoices.
I am so scared to drive my truck - Every time I accelerate I loose power and have been so close to being rear ended. It's so unsafe to drive. I had 100,000 miles in 2011 and now 2014 I have 113,000. It just sits in driveway collecting rust. Dealer won't fix the problem but I feel I like I have replaced everything on the truck. Brakes, Rotors, Hub Assembly, Rear Suspension, Relays, Switches, 100's of Fuses and Light Bulbs, Tires, Modules, Window regulator, etc...... When I say I have - I mean the dealer won't cover and I have done the work and paid 100%. This truck was over $40,000 and having problems 2 months (2,800 miles) after driving off the lot should had been my first clue. I bought a new vehicle to have a few years off of car problems. That didn't last but 2 months. Never again Chevy!

Start at your air filter box. Follow the tube going to the throttle body. Immediately after the air box you'll see an electrical connection in the air tube. That my friend is the connection to the maf sensor. Now ask me what the hell air flow has to do with stabilitrak and traction........I have no idea......lmao
To janderson. Wow sorry to hear that. Especially with your first experience with a brand new purchase. Reminds me of my ford expedition. Tranny overhauled at 20k miles. And motor blew at 80k. I know how it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I'm pretty much done with ford as you are with Chevy. I wonder if you could have lemon law'd it. Shame on Chevy for not fixing your issue. Did you contact corporate about it? You know, I think cars today have too much technology in them. The more gizmos the more problems. To me simple works better. I ask why do I need a computer to control everything in the vehicle.
Ok, here we go.
I went for gas on local Wawa gas station and right after fill, all signs and lights above came ON.
I talked to manager who said, they just get refilled their tanks.
I called Wawa corporation and fill out gas quality claim.
Tomorrow I'm taking my truck to local Chevy dealer let them look at it.
I'm pretty sure, wrong alcohol mixture caused that.
Btw, outside temperature is too low and I think, they just pushing too much additives into it.

hdriderrs Welcome to the forum..
What year model do you have?
The problem can be caused by several things but one of the more common ones is the throttle body/throttle position sensor... might want to check the cable and connector that runs to the TB.
Many have had the TB replaced to address the issue, but again it could be something completely different... have you read any stored codes?
many times the issue will go away and come back, so its best to read the codes, clear then and see what comes back...
If you go to the dealer please do follow up on what they find and do to resolve the issue that you're having...

I had the on going issue, bought a scan tool indicates misfire cylinder 1. Checked plug and was coated with carbon. Changed all plugs and cleaned throttle body. Warnings went away so I cleared trouble codes. Been good so far.
