Welcome to the forum, if you have an extended warranty, I would at least take it to Carmax and have them evaluate it...
I believe the symptoms to be somewhat of a catch-all for failure the system cannot identify.... it could be anything from a poor connection to one of the wheel speed sensors, a throttle body or throttle position sensing issue and the hard shifting is a result of the transmission going into a default mode....
IF you take it in for the evaluation please do follow up with the findings

Sometimes they'll come on and stay on, other times they'll come on for a few seconds, then turn off.

Sometimes when I brake, I can feel the ABS come on, other times I can't.

Very often, the transmission shifts extremely hard in 1st gear.

I have a 2011 Impala LS and just passed the 60k mile mark. I bought the car used from Carmax at 36k miles 13 months ago, the only other problem I've had with it is shaking while driving (Carmax has routinely told me I'm crazy, but I know how an Impala is supposed to drive!)

What's the problem with the ABS, Stabilitrak, Traction Control, and Transmission? I know it's not covered under the GM Powertrain warranty, but I have an extended warranty with Carmax (Not sure if sensors are covered under their warranty either.)
You have to put a code scanner on the car and find out what they underlying problem is. If it trips the stabilitrak error its basically in a limp home mode that seems to be designed to get you to take the car to the dealer, but doesn't necessarily mean that's the problem.

I've been having the ABS/Stabilitrack lights pop on for the past year. After checking the connections I replaced the Terminal Resistor (under the spare tire which cured it for about a month). A few weeks ago I replaced the throttle body (TPS coded). This had no effect on the ABS popping on. Last week I changed the brake switch and it appears to have fixed the problem. I noticed some lime plaque on the old switch so it may have affected the voltage drop. Since it cost $25 I thought it was worth a try. I guess Occam's Razor applied in my case. Hope it work's for you.

I took it to O'Reilly's and it came back with codes B0100, shown as "Short D Squib Circuit" and B0140, which the guy said he couldn't find?

He did say that the ABS will cause the transmission to shift incorrectly and that if he were me, he'd just pull the fuse for the ABS and do without it..

Upon further review, I see...

B0100 Electronic front end sensor #1 malfunction
B0140 Air flow position feedback #2 (passenger) circuit malfunction

Is this right?

I just noticed I was posting this in the Tahoe forum, lol.. I found this forum on a google search for my issues, so I apologize!

Default Same Problem!

I am having the same problems with my tahoe as well... Please help

QUOTE=Chevrolet Customer Service;206383]Julia Garcia,

I'm sorry to hear of your frustration with your Tahoe. Has your dealer been able to duplicate this problem? Does the transmission only shift hard/lose power when the TC light is on? Do the warning lights stay on or do they come on intermittently? Have you had any aftermarket equipment added to the vehicle (i.e. different size wheels/tires, etc.)?

Could you please PM me your vehicle VIN number so I may research your vehicle further. I may be able to provide additional information.

I look forward to your reply.

Louis

I have heard of bad advice before but geeze. You can pull the fuse for a trunk light that stays on and drains the battery but for a key safety component of the vehicle? Wonder what he would have to say if someone got hurt or killed as a result of him advising to intentionally disable the ABS system?

I've been advised by a few mechanics that it's perfectly fine to disable the ABS as the brakes still work as intended without the ABS. However, I decided to NOT do it as I didn't want it to affect other sensors and the main computer.

I have a 2007 Denali 6.2 and have a similar problem. While driving highway speed the Service Stabilitrak / Service Traction Control Warning light will come on and remain on for a about 5 miles and then it will com on again. I have taken it to my GM dealer 4 times (the last time the light was still on) there were no codes that fixed the problem. Bleow is what they have tried.

The first time they replaces some of the wheel sensors.

The second time they cleaned the throttle body and after they were done the vehicle would not start so I was told the computer needed an upgrade. After that my gas mileage went from 18.9 highway to 16.7 I drive a lot of highway.

The third time they could not find anything wrong

The forth time Last week they told me the cam sensor was bad (big $$$$ to change) and the next day it was back on.

Things I was told to try on my own: I have tried fuel additives, change the gas station I buy fuel from. Try lower octane fuel 89 octane (I like to use 90+ octane) Try Using Fuel with out alcohol, I have Changed the plugs and wires.

I have spent over $2,500.00 trying to fix the problem with no luck.

When I spoke to the GM dealer today the only thing they told me was "clearly the things we changed needed to be replaced. We just have not found out what is setting off the light." My coment back was Clearly you have no idea what is wrong with it and I would do some research on the problem SO HELP
