Default How do you remove the front bowtie emblem on a 2009 Tahoe?

My bowtie emblem on the front of my Tahoe has taken a rock and is now chipped. I only need to replace the gold part of the emblem. The Chrome and black base is fine. Is that a big deal to remove? Is it held on with screws or is it glued on? Where can I find a new one? I figured many of you have done this already, so I would ask.

Thanks!!!

Reach down behind it and take off the 2 nuts. It has a little bit of double sided tape on it so pry it off gently. The are readily available all over the Internet, Ebay is a popular place.

Does the black outside edge of the bowtie also come off when I remove the nuts or just the main gold section? I need to know which part I am trying to pry off.

Thanks for your help!!!

The whole thing comes off. There is some adhesive also holding it on.

Yea, the gold emblem is just taped onto the black plastic frame. The black plastic frame is attached by two plastic studs and metal nuts through the front fascia. You can get rid of both of these if you are trying to replace the bowtie. I just did this over the weekend and went with Black on my Black tahoe. It looks freaking great. Just ordered one for the rear a moment ago.

Anyone know how to remove the rear bowtie?

Warm it up and use fishing line, dental floss, or a credit card to cut the adhesive or gently pry and cut.

If you are careful, you'll be left w/ a nice chrome bowtie.
