How to know if Tahoe engine been changed?
Hi everyone. I recently bought a tahoe 2012 LT and there were some leaks in the engine so i took it to a workshop. He opened the oil pan and said this is not the car’s original oil pan because it doesnt have an oil pressure relief valve. Ok so far so good then he said that the engine itself has been changed and this is a trailblazer V8 engine 😳. I’m still kind of suspicious.
so now the question is how do I know if this is the original care engine or replaced. If its replaced then what kind of engine is it??
any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks everyone

what is the engine size listed on the emissions label in the engine compartment. if its not a afm engine from factory,,,it won't have a relief valve inthe pan. post a pic of the valley cover as they are different non afm to afm engines.
post the 8th vin character.

Thanks again!
the engine in the pic is not an afm engine ....the valley cover in the pic is flat. afm valley covers are have grooves. do a vin decode in the tools section and maybe it will tell you if afm was a factory option.
if the engine was changed to a non afm engine....would not bother me at all...in fact i would prefer a non afm engine....less to go wrong.
