Default How to tell if TPS battery is dead

I have an 04 tahoe i just bought and when following the owners manual on relearning the sensors, only 1 is working. I also have 4 more identical rims with tires and tried them and non worked. More than likely bad batteries?

I'm getting ready to replace all four on wife's 2004. You can get on ebay for about $150 for four. I think the batteries are good for about seven years.

i've heard 10 years and i've also heard 100,000 miles...never actually looked into it but from my experience there doesn't seem to be a pattern of any kind of when they go.

150 for the set is a hell of a deal

I got 3 new ones on E bay here the other day, AC Delco new in the package for less than $100, at least they were the newest part number but it makes me wonder, are they using any battery power while in the package or do they stay idle until the car activates them?

Not sure on the GM ones but have checked out some aftermarket ones for my RV and most, if not all, shut down after no motion. Now they still may draw a little power for motion detection but that would be a lot less than when active.

Maybe Louis can check on the GM version and let us know.
