Default Hybrid Nav Question

I am hessitant to ask another nav question but I have been through pages and pages of threads and have not found anything related to this.

I had an opportunity to purchase a cheap ($300) Nav unit part number 15882766 out of an Hybrid Tahoe. Everything I read said that was the correct part number for my 2007 suburban LTZ. So I bought it figuring I would take a chance with it.

Vehicle had to go in to shop last week so I stuck it in without the GPS and VSS wiring done yet, just wanted to get them to program it while it was in the shop figuring I would wire it up later.

The service manager is a personal friend of mine so he is willing to work with me or let me do the work myself if I could just figure out what is needed.

It appears the radio did not take all the programming options from the passthrough programming. I still have a screen in the menu settings that says hybrid I also have the RES that does not work (it worked previously with original radio) and I do not have any vehicle sounds, chimes and such.

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the hybrid radio? I don't really care that there is a screen that says hybrid in the menu settings if I could get everything else to work right. Is there a way to wipe all programming to start fresh? Or any other ideas anyone has that I should be doing? Or is this just an lost cause and need to find someone with an hybrid to sell radio to? Has anyone had any problems in the past where a radio took part of the programming but not all of it? When I installed it, I got the theft lock and the first programming was able to get that taken care of so I know it took some of it at least.

thanks for the help

I think you will find that programming is the key to any NAV installation. It sounds like you have a good connection with your friend working at the dealership. The information in the other NAV threads will come in useful as you are trying to get the programming just right. Good luck - it can be a long and sometimes frustrating road, but you should be able to get it with some patience!
