Default O2 Sensor

Finally got around to doing my exhaust, yay!!! Never modified a newer car(emissions compliant). Can I punch out the cats, or will that mess up the O2 sensor? Is there a way to manually adjust the air/fuel? I want to add a Bully Dog Triple Dog GT, but if I can't monitor the air/fuel with the O2 then I'm gonna have to get a gauge and do it manually and I definitely don't want to spend the money if the sensor will do it's job.

It would help a lot if you told us what year your truck is and what motor etc.

If you punch out the cat you will get a check engine light. You probably will not feel any difference in power and if you do it will be so minimal it is not worth the trouble. If you are looking for more power and sound look into a nice cat bat system and look into a Black Bear tune. I have heard the tune can be designed specifically for what you want to accomplish.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too, as far as the performance gain. I just wanted a more free-flow. Is it possible to adjust air/fuel on these new-age motors w/o a programmer/tuner?
