Default Idling concern and issue…

Wassup everybody…

When it comes to life I tend to be a great listener especially when it comes to my elders. An elder I was passing in the auto zone parking lot complimented my Tahoe but also informed me that it sounds to be idling to high. Is there a way for me to remedy this myself or should I take it to my mechanic?

What rpm? 600 to 700 is normal for a warm engine. I'm a ''senior'' and a lot of old coots do not know jack, but they think they do.

I'm not sure but when I leave out I'll take a pic and send it to you if you don't mind?

The throttle body / plate may just need cleaning. That's a DIY with some throttle body cleaner if you are able to. There is no adjusting idle, its computer controlled.
It's also possible you have a vacuum leak also.
