So I just had the 4L60 rebuilt and I am in the process of putting it back in the Tahoe. I seated the TC onto the tranny and got it pushed all the way onto the input shaft. When I got the tranny up and bolted to the engine there was a 1/4" space between the TC and the flywheel. I tightened the flywheel to TC bolts to spec and it pulls the TC towards the front of the vehicle. Is this okay? I have heard that if the TC is to far forwards it can destroy the pump. With the rebuild they replaced the TC, is there something I'm missing? Thanks for the help.

 

The guys I've watched on TV always warn that you have make sure it's fully seated or you'll ruin it when bolting up. It always seems like they rotate and push and it always clicks twice.

 

thats perfectly normal, ive been having transmission problems with my truck since i got it and ive replaced my tranny 4 times now and every time i put it back together its been just like you said and ive never had any issues
