Default Intermittent PRND321 display problem

Hi from Oregon. Bad wildfire 8 miles from our casa. Wife might have to drive our 2004 Tahoe LT to flee if things get hairy. I drive the motorhome with cat and other treasured items. VIN 1GNEK13T14J265965, mileage is 106056. Been acting up for a week and is intermittent. Other displays OK.

I read some prior threads including the 10/19/2010 to 12/21/20 with 72 replies. FYI, I am 82 and a complete auto dunce. No soldering repairs or cluster removal by me is possible. So I will call the local Chev dealer today and set up an appointment for replacement/repair.

Any comments will be MUCH appreciated.

Thank you....

Forgot to mention that symptoms are.....no display of PRND321 when key in ACC position. Other displays OK. Ignition ON and after 5 seconds +/- there is a slight chattering noise and the PRND321....shows up. Tried it a few minutes ago and it worked just fine.

I'm thinking ignition switch issue. Let us know the outcome.

What he said. If it where the issue with the PRNDL led's, it wouldn't be intermittent.

Rum Creek file is 70% contained. Display has worked great for 10 days....until yesterday. Did some shopping and at last stop (ice cream).....display did not lite up. On a whim I switched the Exterior Lamp control at bottom left corner of Instrument Panel.....to Off. and when it came back on the PRNDL321 showed up, as well as other lights on the Instrument Panel Cluster... which were also off. Is that a clue when (and if) I go to the Chevy dealer ? TIA.
