Question iPod audio popping

In my '10 Burban LTZ, while I'm listening to my iPod hooked up thru the center console USB connection, I'm getting popping noises. Almost like the sound of an old record player popping. It does not start until about 5 minutes into listening to the iPod, but then never goes away until the car is turned off and back on.

I've been dealing with this issue now for over a year (since I got the truck) and haven't really been able to find too much online about it. While I just kind of ignore it, it is very noticeable, and pretty annoying on those stressful drives home from work when you just want to turn up the music.

This does not happen on AM/FM, DVD, CD, XM, just when using the iPod connection. So this narrows it down to just that connection somehow, whether it be physical or software / firmware maybe?

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Or am I in this by myself?
