Help needed...
Have a 2007 Suburban LTZ that I presently have only one remote for...
Battery in remote went dead, so I replace and try to reprogram it....
Follow all instructions, it works for approximately two minutes---
Lock/unlock/remote start/power tailgate....all functions check out.

Walk away from the care for a few minutes, and voila!!....stops working and right back at square one...

Any ideas gents?

Silly question but is the battery seated/charged correctly?

 

Not silly at all....Yes battery is fine, remote and contacts are all good.
It's uncanny, reprogrammed it 5 times and works every time, every function...as soon as I lock the car and walk away for two minutes, its like it forgets.

Could it have anything to do with the fact I only have one remote? I wouldnt think so, but.....

 

try this. I seen this the other day. it may work.

Use this Procedure for Vehicles without

Drivers Information Center Buttons

To access this display, the vehicle must be in Park (P) with key in the on position (as far
as you can go without cranking engine)

1. Press the trip odometer reset stem until RELEARN REMOTE KEY displays.
2. Press and hold the trip odometer reset stem for three seconds.
The message REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE will display
3. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the first keyless remote at the same
time for approximately 15 seconds. A chime will sound indicating that the remote is
programmed.
4. To program additional remotes at this time repeat step 3.
This vehicle can have a maximum of eight remotes programmed.
5. To exit programming mode turn key off and remove key.
Test remote(s).

That's the exact set of directions that I used. Just ordered two new remotes, hoping that maybe that will do the trick...fingers crossed...especially with all the weather in the single digits recently...

 

Cant for the life of me figure this out....Programming them correctly, they work for a minute or two, then "forget"....

 

Any Chevy techs on here with any ideas? Amazingly, as soon as I unlock the door with the key, the remotes work! I can't for the life of me figure this out. Will try disconnecting the battery and see if that does anything...

 

I know this is really a shotgun approach but try disconnecting the vehicle battery for a few minutes...then try the programming.... your dealing with a computer and sometimes a reboot will do wonders....or just make everything worse..
