Key fob rear lift gate 2010
2010 Chevrolet Suburban 1500
New to me Burb,
Purchased a pair of key fobs off of Ebay. Went through the programming through the message center routine. Both key fobs programmed successfully.
When using the fob for the rear liftgate it has never worked. The liftgate glass will work maybe three times in a row,,,then it will not work at all from same location, Try it 15 minutes later and the glass part works fine.
The door unlock/lock and horn works as it should every time.
Bought the cheapest ones i could find,,,being a cheap skate,,,
Edit: wanted to add, The one OEM fob i got with the Burb,It is about as hit and miss with the rear glass working as the Ebay units I bought.
Anyone else run into this scenario with brand X key fobs?
TIA

Further reading,,
Have not be able to get a definite answer,,but some threads indicate the "base model' Suburban which is what i have the rear lift gate from the remote key fob may not be available. Never got an owners manual with the truck,so cant look to see if it shows a 'how to' on how to use fob at all.
The OEM fob i got only has four buttons,, door lock, door unlock ,one rear taligate icon, horn. The Ebay Fobs have six buttons,,with an added button for both glass and liftgate itself. and remote start
This truck does not have the overhead console lift gate release button for example.
TIA

@Cusser
Thank You for the Suburban owners manual link for the PDF.
Answered the question. On the base models,,,with the key fob I have only the rear glass is remote capable. The lift gate is not. That seems kind of odd GM,,does this, this way even for low end model.
Thanks again

*SOLVED*
Showing my stupidity,,,,once again
This was remedied by simply pressing and holding button on key fob ,, down for the rear glass button for 2 seconds. I was just stabbing the button quickly with thumb. This is why sometimes it worked sometimes the fob did not work. Just by accident figured it out. Thought maybe was a dodgy ground or something.
Just goes to prove You have to be smarter than the key fob.
