Default to lift or not to lift

that is the question.

obviously i'm contemplating lifting my Tahoe. What I would like is to see pics of your Tahoe lifted with what tire size you're using. Also, anyone know whats the max size tire you can put on a stock Tahoe?

You can run 33s with a leveling kit. I was running 285/55r20s stock but had some rubbing, and I now have a leveling kit and rub a little (probably due to the back spacing and width).

I say go with a lift, I actually found a great priced one. 3.5" lift made by rockcrawler for $400. But I found it for $350.

Thanks, right now I have 285/50/20 with no rubbing but I'm not liking the way it handles in the snow. I like the look of both styles, but I'm not gonna change tires each season either. Need one look, tire that can handle it all.

Do you have any pics of your ride?

I say lift, I dont think there are many of them out there, that's why I am choosing to lift mine. Right now I have a leveling kit w/ 33" tires (Titan Offroad wheels/tires), looks nice and beefy, but now I'm thinking about that link above, the only question I have is the description sounds like it's for something with leaf springs in back instead of IS (independent suspension).

Right now I am low on funds so cheaper ways are more attractive to me at the moment, but not quality.

But this is the lift and look I'm looking forward to in the future. 20" wheel, 35" tire, 8" lift

Let me know what you decide.

deejayrock,

Do you have any pics of your ride?

When it comes to tire sizes I'm a complete idiot. I guess I never really thought about it but I assumed with the larger rims 20"+ the tires were always pretty slim. Are you able to get decent size AT tires for a 20" rim that will handle well in snow? I'd love to be able to keep my current rims. How would I go about figuring out the size?

[8D]you could always search www.cardomain.comfor pics/specs of lifted Tahoes... this site is for nothing but pictures of modified vehicles
I, myself,am trying to decide if I want to moderately lift my Tahoe (3" lift, 33" tires, steps, etc) or if I want to bling my truck with 22" chrome wheels

Try doing a search in both the Tahoe and Burban section. I saw a sweet black Z71 lifted some time ago, but can't remeber what section it was in.
